The Lynda Tam Guiding Light and Legacy Award

Lynda Tam Legacy Award

The Lynda Tam Guiding Light and Legacy Award has been established to honour Lynda Tam, a long-serving leader at York University and with the Faculty of Arts, Media, Performance and Design. This award is presented annually to an advising, peer leadership, or a student services professional, who embodies Lynda Tam’s creativity, imagination, and ability to positively guide others and programs to deliver student service excellence.  Nominations can be submitted here

A Call for Art Commission

As a champion of student’s creativity, Lynda often commissioned works of art from students each year. To support her legacy, we are calling for students to submit a piece of art work to be commissioned in honour of Lynda. The selected design will be chosen by a committee including members from the Advising Leader and Peer Leader Communities of Practice. The selected designer will receive a retail value of $300. 

Winters College Council 50th Anniversary Award

Awarded to a student affiliated with Winters College, who is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person, and a resident of Ontario, who demonstrates financial need. Preference will be given to students who have participated in a broad range of Winters College activities and who has demonstrated a commitment to serving the College community. Preference will also be given to students who achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 6.00 (B).

Winters College Life Discretionary Fund Award

Winters College shares with the Faculty of Fine Arts the common goal of providing an environment where the development and expression of creativity is paramount. The Winters College Life Discretionary Fund Award has been established to provide financial support to current Winters College students who are in good academic standing (minimum cumulative GPA of 6.0), are involved in special projects related to their field of study and/or demonstrate financial need.
